For high school athletics, the countdown has begun.

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Martin Deanda—a violent child predator from North Texas—to Texas’10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders List. Texas Crime Stoppers is now offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information leading to his arrest.
The Brownfield volleyball program hosted a Co-Ed Tournament on June 21 at the high school. The fundraiser featured teams of four competing in both pool play and bracket play. The tournament closed out the spring competition for the Lady Cubs as they prepare for the 2025 season.
It’s been a busy six months for Brownfield head football coach Lawrence Jackson.
Hired in January, Jackson hit the ground running and hasn’t stopped.
He may, however, get a chance to catch his breath over the next few weeks.
