Madrid Hired as New Wellman-Union Volleyball Coach

The Wellman-Union Lady Wildcats’ volleyball team will welcome a new face at the helm of their squad. New Head Coach Jai Madrid will lead the Lady Wildcats in the 2024-2025 volleyball season. Madrid coached at Plains High School for the past four years and was looking for a change of setting.

TCRSPA Hands Out Books to Local Elementary Schools

Terry County Retired School Personnel Association (TCRSPA) handed out books last week to all elementary schools in the county for free. The children were ecstatic to receive the books and even more excited to learn they could take them home with them. TCRSPA delivered books to the children of Brownfield ISD at Oak Grove Elementary and Colonial Heights Elementary. TCRSPA also visited the Wellman-Union and Meadow communities to give books to their elementary students as well.

Average gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 4.7 ceAverage gasoline prices in Texas have risen 11.1 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.88/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 23.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 8.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has risen 10.0 cents in the last week and stands at $4.09 per gallon.
