Read moreBIDCorp Director Brian Brisendine gave the council an update on the Rialto, including a photo of what it looked like before and after the new paint job for the front. With the front of the Rialto finished, they can begin working on repairing the roof of the building. BIDCorp received four bids and decided to go with Lubbock-based business Johnson Roofing. Before discussing the bids, Brisendine updated the council on the current condition of the roof.

Read moreThe Brownfield Independent School District along with Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation (BIDCorp) and Lubbock Economic Development Alliance (LEDA), are working on the Workforce Development program. The Workforce Development program was developed to help prepare students who want to enter the workforce after graduating while also helping the current workforce develop new skills and trades that are needed in the community. BIDCorp and LEDA work with BISD by giving the school grants, which are used to buy the equipment needed to train students. BISD Superintendent Chris Smith spoke on the role of the school and his vision for the program heading forward.
