City Hall and the fire and police departments’ parking lots were seal coated on Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11. The workers not only added a new coat of pavement but redid the markings for parking space and handicap parking. After the pavement and markings were finished the workers swept all the dirt off the parking lot.

In the Whitlock Theory Test the top three winners were Kyla Wiebe who won the Gold with a score of 100, Jessie McElwee won Silver with a 98, and Haylee Crutchfield won Bronze with a 93.

Read moreIn a special meeting, the Brownfield City Council came to the decision to not open the Family Aquatic Center this summer. City Manager Jeff Davis, Parks and Recreation Director Scott Jackson, and Water Director James Nix all recommended to the city council to not open the pool this summer and instead, work on getting it fixed for next year. The council voted to close the aquatic center, bring in engineers, and have the pool properly fixed for next year.
