The Brownfield Lions Club met with Brownfield and Terry Co. Goodfellows Co-Chiefs to present a $500 donation to Goodfellows to help with the annual Christmas campaign. The Lions Club was able to donate two times the amount from last year.

The Terry Co. Commissioners Court held their first meeting of December via Zoom with reports and fireworks on the agenda. After the call to order, invocation, pledges, and reading of the minutes, the court went into their agenda.

At the Terry County Commissioners court meeting on Monday, on the agenda to be discussed and possibly approved was whether or not the county offices, such as the courthouse and county annex, should go to a four-day workweek and to change the funeral timeoff policy. However, before the court could allow the four-day workweek or funeral time-off, the county employee handbook needs to be amended.

The Brownfield Industrial Development Corporation (BIDCorp) met Monday afternoon Dec. 14, in their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss finances, sales tax revenue, and the continuation of bringing in an RV dealership and service company.

DPS Expanding Hours at Select Driver License Offices

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is offering extended office hours at participating driver license (DL) offices across the state, beginning in 2021. Starting Jan. 4, office hours at the designated offices will be expanded to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. (Current business hours at those offices are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Customers can begin making appointments for these new time slots immediately.
