With Halloween around the corner, safety is something that can not be neglected with trick-or-treating. Brownfield Police Chief Chris Kotzur said the police departments patrolling duites do not change the night of Halloween. Some of the police department will be out at City Hall handing out candy at the trunk-or-treat event along with several other businesses. Kotzur mentioned that this could be a safer alternative than the usual trick-or-treating.

The longest discussion was on the cancellation of the Softball tournament during the weekend of October 6th through October 8th. Council members Kelli Mendez, Celso Duran, J.C Tijerina, Leon Pope, Marshall Martell, Mark Williams and Jimmy Garza were all present on the quorum along with Mayor Tom Hesse, City Manager Jeff Davis, City Secretary Kelly Burris and Attorney Matt Wade.
