At a previous City Council meeting Brownfield residents arrived at sunrise to voice their passionate concerns regarding their safety and well-being. They wanted some improvements, and they wanted them quickly. They were unhappy with the unpaved roads outside of their houses. They wanted them paved to make travel easier with their vehicles, to stop reckless driving, and to keep the dust out of their homes. The city is “actually taking action on this thing now,” said City Manager Jeff Davis. The city is going to start “strip paving those streets.” Jeff Davis added, with a few more meetings to determine specific streets, “hopefully we’ll get this thing going by the summer.” Matt Wade, the City Attorney, said the agreement between the city and paving company is safe, “there’s not a lot of risk.”
