The Brownfield Board of Trustees held a special meeting the morning of Friday, March 11th. The special meeting was attended by most of the trustees with Chairman Geoff Cooper and Yvonne Rocha the only absent members. Vice President Tim Swaringen presided over the meeting with a quorum present. He handed over the floor to Superintendent Chris Smith who presented the board the winning bid for new kitchen equipment for Oak Groves and Brownfield Middle School.

Twenty one year old Ross Ernest was arrested for public intoxication. Eighteen year old Juan Najera was arrested for an illegally possessed firearm. Nineteen year old Warmly Latraveon D'shawn was arrested for aggravated assault on a police officer, unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana, and terroristic threat. These arrests were made on 100 West Hill St in Brownfield, TX. Both Juan Najera and Ross Ernest are still in Terry County jail, but D’shawn was let out on bond on March 10th.
