After the invocation and pledges, the court examined and paid bills and read the minutes from the June 8 meeting. The next meeting is set for July 13 at 10 a.m. in the Terry County Courthouse. All four county commissioners, the county auditor and the county clerk were present for the meeting with Commissioner Mike Swain taking lead of the meeting in the absence of County Judge J.D. Wagner.

Read moreThe COVID-19 virus pandemic seemed to slow down until these past two weeks. The debate rages on the increase is due to the governor reopening the state or is it because increased testing. In Terry County recently, there was a 14th case, but the South Plains Public Health District (SP-PHD) had to retract that case when two more samples were taken from the patient and sent to different labs and both came back negative. People in Terry County were happy to hear that, however a week later on Wednesday June 17, another case came back positive resulting in Terry County having 14 confirmed cases.
