Read moreThe Kendrick Memorial Library closed their annual summer reading program with a splash party at Coleman Park last week. The library will still be active with county youth through the remainder of the summer. Youth can bring in their reading logs and be awarded prized based on the number of books read. Citizens are still encouraged to come in the library and read with the chance of being awarded other prizes. The library is a historical resource for the city and county.
Read moreThe Terry County Commissioners Court met Monday at the courthouse and approved bill paying for the county and minutes from previous meetings. The court then opened a public hearing for the abandoning, discontinuing or vacating County Road 440 East of US Highway 380 by Lynn County. This was the second and final required hearing on the closing of the road that has stood dormant for many years. This road will still serve as an easement for surrounding land owners to access their property. The hearing was closed with no one speaking to the closing. Judge Tony Serbantez stated that he had sent waivers to the surrounding land owners and had not had any of them returned. Commissioners voted to table the closure item until the waivers were returned.
