The Brownfield Cubs tennis team had a great first day while hosting the District Tennis tournament. Thomas Brisendine and Lavantae Rishardson won the 3-A District Boys Doubles. Jack Garcia and Kamryn Martinez won District 3-A Mixed Doubles. Rylee Richoleson and Dominique Ussery won District 3-A Mixed Doubles Runner-Up. For a couple of these student athletes this will be their last time to win district as 3 out of the 6 kids are seniors.
Read moreLITTLEFIELD – The Brownfield Lady Cubs softball team scored seven runs in two innings to defeat Littlefield 7-5 on Saturday, March 26th to remain undefeated in District 3-3A. The Lady Cubs looked like a different team from the 10-0 district home opener win on Thursday, and even trailed for the first time in district play. After struggling at the plate for most of the game, the Lady Cubs made the necessary adjustments and began to not only hit the Lady ‘Cats pitcher but find the gap in the outfield. Lady Cubs head coach Loren Phelps spoke on her team’s performance.
