Carmen Sue Yoachum Camp, a cherished member of the Liberty City & Kilgore community and former special education teacher at Brownfield ISD, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Friday, May 23, 2025, at her home in Liberty City. She was 87 years old. Carmen’s life will be honored with a visitation on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Rader Funeral Home at 401 N. Martin Street, Kilgore, Texas. Brownfield Storm Causes Accidents, Loss of Electricity

Monday night about five miles south of Brownfield on US 62/385 multiple vehicles were in the southbound ditch after a microburst wind and hailstorm that left about half a mile of roadway covered in marble sized hail stones. First responders county wide were on the scene immediately directing traffic and checking motorists. On the north side roadway, a vehicle lost control and struck the wire median due to the storm. Several vehicles were damaged and stuck in the ditch. No major injuries have been reported to the News.
