Brownfield ISD hosted a Title III Parent event titled “Enhancing Educational Supports” Wednesday morning at Colonial Heights Elementary. Title III helps ensure children who are learning English become proficient in the language and develop academically. According to NASSP.org, Title III also continues to promote parental, family, and community participation in language instruction educational programs for the parents, families, and communities of English learners. While accountability for the progress of English learners has been folded into Title I, along with all other student subgroups, Title III still remains the dedicated formula funding to states to improve the education of English learners and immigrant youth to learn English and meet challenging state academic standards and to implement effective language instruction programs.

The Cubs’ offense continued their momentum into the third quarter to edge out a feisty Dimmitt offense 13-12 to give Brownfield a 36-23 lead heading into the final quarter. The Cubs sealed the win in the final quarter after outscoring Dimmitt 10-3 for the 46-26 victory. Jojo Carrillo surpassed 1000 points during the win.
