Read moreAUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is stepping up enforcement for the Thanksgiving holiday to ensure people are able to get to and from their celebrations safely. Texas Highway Patrol Troopers will increase enforcement on the roads from Wednesday, Nov. 23, through Sunday, Nov. 27. DPS Troopers will be looking for people not wearing seat belts, driving while intoxicated, speeding and failing to follow the Move Over, Slow Down law, among other traffic violations.

Read moreThe Brownfield Lady Cubs played 2 games before getting to enjoy the rest of the Thanksgiving break. On Monday they played Lubbock Christian High School who’s ranked #2 in the state of Texas for TAPPS and coming off their second State Championship in as many years, Brownfield fell to Lubbock Christian 46-35. On Tuesday Brownfield returned to action as they took on the 4A Monahans Lady Loboes who they defeated 59-30 and that win would secure the first of the season for the Brownfield Lady Cubs. Coach Wyatts bunch has had some early struggles through four games with almost an entirely new team, but they have also gone against stiff competition early. Opening the season against #12 Levelland, #7 Farwell, and most recently #2 LCHS and Monahans.
