MIDLAND – The Brownfield Lady Cubs defeated Stanton 16-2 at the Midland tournament Thursday afternoon. It was the second win in as many games for the Lady Cubs at the tournament having defeated Crane 9-1 in the morning. McKenzye Perez had a 3-run home run in the top of the first. Brianne Franco pitched all four innings giving up two runs on five hits. She had four kills, a walk, and hit a batter.

Read moreOn Monday, Brownfield ISD had a 2022 Ford F-350 Ag truck stolen at the hotel in San Antonio during the stock show. The truck was recovered by the Dimmit County Sheriff 's Office on Tuesday morning after attempting to make a routine traffic stop, followed by a pursuit which ended on Farm to Market Road 65. The Sheriff 's Deputies apprehend two of the 15 suspects in the vehicle. Superintendent Chris Smith spoke on the situation of the vehicle.

Cat Gonzalez, chairman of the board, opened the meeting when he had a quorum present with Scott Jack son, Justin Hesse, and Kelly Burris. The only member missing was Vice-Chairman Aarrhon Flores. The board met to discuss the cosmetic updates to the pool and the slides, the Brownfield Sports Complex facilities utilization agreement with Terry County Youth Sports, use of the facilities for private softball and/or baseball tournaments and single game usage policies, regulations, and contract, and the expansion of Coleman RV Park.
