LAMESA — The Brownfield Cubs went on the road looking to shake off the upset loss to Littlefield at home last week. They where on the road for the first time in District 3-3A visiting the Golden Tornadoes of Lamesa, a team looking to turn its season around and make a run at the playoffs. The Cubs went into the game Tuesday in second place trailing only Dimmitt for the district title and a spot in the playoffs, but after another cold start the Cubs fell to Lamesa 78-69.

The is was the first meeting between the two Terry County teams with each team coming in with different aspirations. The Lady Broncos had only one district game played after Loop canceled due to COVID, and the Lady ‘Cats came in looking to get above .500 in district. Both were still in the fight for the district title, but it was Meadow that took a leap forward after defeating its rival 45-34.
