There are people who some would call “lifers” and others might have broken down on the side of the highway and decided to stay. Some folks came to work here in Brownfield and felt they would leave five or ten years down the road, but they didn’t. Firecracker Run Is A Go Amid COVID-19

The heat is on at Coleman Park this Independence Day, Saturday July 4, as the West Texas Running Club’s (WTRC) annual Firecracker Run is set to go off. This event is a Brownfield tradition, this will be the 51st year WTRC will hold the Independence Day event in Brownfield. The Firecracker Run began as a way to keep Brownfield ISD’s athletes in shape throughout the summer. As always, WTRC likes to encourage young and old, girls and boys, men and women to get in shape so everyone can live a happier and longer life. The main emphasis of the race will be on having family and friends get together for an enjoyable start to one of America’s favorite holidays, the birth of our nation.
