As Memorial Day has come and gone, it’s looking like the COVID-19 virus pandemic is becoming a second thought, or at least according to the economy. The Dow Jones Industrial set a record at a whopping 29,568 on Feb. 12. That seemed to be short-lived when the COVID-19 virus became prevalent in the coming days and the Dow lost over a 1000 points within eight days. The Dow then plunged from 28,037.65 to 19,028.36 on March 23. That was well over 10,000 points lost within a five week span. By the time May 14 had arrived, there would be over 39 million unemployed workers.

Graduation is just around the corner for Terry County seniors. Wellman-Union graduates Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m., at the playground south of school. Graduates are granted up to 10 seats for family. Valedictorian for W-U is Blake Crowley and Salutatorian is Suzanna Rempel.
