Brownfield earns honors at New Home

Brownfield FFA had another great day putting in the work at the New Home Leadership Contest. The FFA also got to bring home some hardware. Competing in an Egg Drop Contest

Brownfield ISD’s RISE Gifted and Talented conducted its fifth Annual CubsRISE Egg Drop. The competition had to bring out the big truck to test the projects to see if the egg would survive the drop. It thanked the City of Brownfield Electric Department for helping outwith their trucks. Almost all of the eggs survived drops of 15, 30, 46, and 68 feet! Dalhart, 49-20 Last meeting: Shallowater 40, Brownfield 0 (2021) Notes: Shallowater leads the series, 10-3, and has won the last eight meetings. … Shallowater is a combined 27-4 against all District 2-3A teams (Brownfield, Denver City, Lamesa, Kermit) since 2004. … It has been a very long season for the Cubs, who had high expectations when practice started in August. Personnel changes and injuries have decimated the roster, with the coaching staff looking for any spark each week. … Brownfield has scored just 79 points entering the postseason, while allowing 447. … Shallowater has scored 349 (34.9 points per game) and allowed 177 (17.7 ppg) and is currently riding a six-game winning streak and has scored 220 points during that span. … Shallowater’s only losses this season are to Seminole and Greenwood, both members of District 1-4A Division II. … The winner of this matchup will advance to face the Peaster-Comanche winner in the area round.
