Read moreLaMoine Lindsey Abernathy, born on October 2, 1933, in Brownfield, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida, where she had resided since 2004. LaMoine was predeceased by her beloved parents, Newton Amos Lindsey and Fannie Buchanan Lindsey, and sisters, Trucene George and Geraldine Davis. She was also preceded in death by her cherished nieces, Cynthia Hutchison and Shauna George. She is survived by her daughter, Cammy Abernathy (Steve Pearton), and her grandson, Max Pearton. LaMoine is also survived by her niece, Candy (Randy) Parrish, and nephews, Scott (Debby) George and Walt Davis. LaMoine was known for her deep love of family, her passion for fashion, her collection of cookbooks, and her love of old movies and football. She embodied the spirit of a true Southern belle, with a Texas twist, bringing grace and charm to everyone she met. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Haven Hospice in LaMoine’s memory.
