Abbott vetoes THC ban, calls special session Gov. Greg Abbott just before the midnight deadline Sunday vetoed a bill on THC products and said he would call a special legislative session to regulate products containing the substance, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The veto angered the bill’s chief champion, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

Cell Phones in Texas Classrooms Will be Banned

House Bill 1481 from the Texas State Legislature mandates schools private and public to create policies prohibiting student use of personal communication devices during instructional time. This means schools will be mandated to have policies that would ban cell phones, smartwatches, and other devices during the school day. The bill has passed both the Texas House and Senate and has been signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott.
