Read moreMemorial Service for Beryl Yowell will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Brownfield with Rev. Jonathan Land and Rev. Tommy Rosenblad officiating. A reception will follow in the church activity center. Viewing will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home. Beryl was born on June 1, 1930, to George and Edna Henson in Brownfield. She passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 95. Beryl married her childhood sweetheart, Loyd Wayne Yowell, on July 31, 1948. Together, they nurtured a loving and steadfast partnership that lasted 60 years before Loyd tragically passed away in a car accident in 2007. Beryl exemplified unwavering strength as she and Loyd raised their sons on the family farm. Known for her tireless dedication, she provided not only nurturing but also balanced life’s demands as she expertly drove tractors and prepared three homemade meals a day. A woman of deep faith, Beryl was a longstanding member of the First Baptist Church in Brownfield, where she forged lasting friendships and served faithfully. She found joy in sharing her love through baking birthday cakes for her children and grandchildren, creating cherished memories with each one. Beryl was also an avid quilter, pouring her creativity and warmth into every stitch. In recent years, she enjoyed a weekly exercise routine with a close-knit group of friends at the hospital gym. Beryl is preceded in death by her parents, George and Edna Henson; husband, Loyd Yowell; son, Alan Yowell; brothers, Clay, Hubert, Joe, and George Henson; sisters, Oleta and Ruby Henson, Francille Price, Evelyn Thompson, and Lewanna “Tissie” Smith; and niece, Jesse Mary Chidester. She is survived by her sons, Larry Yowell (Sharon) and Dennis Yowell (Peggy); six grandchildren, Brad, Shelby, Farron, Rylan, Lindsay, Taylor; and 11 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church and the Terry County Cemetery Fund.
