Zarius Garcia is our Player of The Week. Garcia had a 3 run RBI against the the Alpine Bucks as well as being named MR. Cub at the athletic banquet on Monday, May 9. Garcia is also graduating on Friday, May 27. Garcia played his final game and was the only senior to play in the Cubs final game of the season against Shallowater on Saturday, May 14.

BISD school board meeting

Brownfield Independent School District had many important people to recognize at the end of the school year. The Colonial Heights Student of the month was Pre-K student Liam Rivera. The Colonial Height Employee of the month was Brownfield local, Priscilla Rodriguez. The Oak Grove employee of the month was the hard working full time sub, Bianca Gamez. The BMS employee of the month was Breanne McCleskey for her “leadership” and ,“she does a great job building relationships with parents and students.” The BHS employee of the month was Mary Lou Jackson. She was born in the Philippines, but now she works in Brownfield. Her department chair said she was, “sweet and kind, but also holds people accountable.”
