On Monday The Brownfield News was able to sit down and speak with Mia Medina about childhood hunger in Texas. She said, “that as many as one in four kids suffer from food insecurity.” We discussed the various ways that food insecurity can look in various households, but regardless of how food insecurity manifests for specific children “studies show that kids who eat breakfast at school are more likely to excel academically, they’re more likely to be alert, and they’re more likely to have better concentration.”
