The Brownfield Noon Lions Club held its meeting at noon on Thursday at Coleman Park Party House for members and guests. The Noon Lions Club had two special speakers attend the meeting Anthony Ferguson and Nicholas Seaton who, along with their wives Tracy Ferguson and Katy Jane Seaton are the owners of Winehouse Parker.

Read moreThe City of Brownfield hosted the West Texas Municipal Power Agency Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday afternoon. The meeting was attended by Brownfield City Manager Jeff Davis, Brownfield Director of Electrical Line Superintendent Cat Gonzalez, City of Tulia Power and Light Brian West, City of Floydada City Manager Darell Gooch, and City of Floydada Electric Utility Ray Perez. The first item by the directors was approving the previous minutes from the meeting on December 9, which the directors approved. The board did have an executive session at the end of the meeting but no action was taken.

Read moreThe Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees met on Monday, February 28 for its regular scheduled meeting for the month of February. Board member Yvonne Rocha was the only trustee missing from the meeting, but there were enough members present for President Geoff Cooper to call the quorum to order. The first item on the agenda was the recognition of Brexton Wise of Oak Grove as student of the month, Jessica Tate of Oak Grove, Pilar Carrillo of Colonial Heights, Maverick Allison of Brownfield Middle School, and Jasmine Arenas of Brownfield High School as employees of the month. Each one was given a plaque and a gift card. Following the traditional recognitions, the board had three special recognitions.
