Michael “Glen” Wooley passed from this life to the next on April 30, 2021 at the age of 62. Glen was born to JC and Dora Mae Wooley of Brownfield on February 10, 1959. He was the youngest of four children in a farming family. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age. He attended Brownfield High School and began farming in 1976. He farmed from 1976 to 1985. He then had work experience as a mechanic in Austin, moved back to Brownfield and worked in the oil field. Glen purchased Moonlight Window Tinting in 1989. He cultivated his business over many years where many of his customers became like family to him. In his later years, Glen took pride in managing the Wooley farm which originated in 1921 by the late WD Carter. Glen loved to feel the wind in his hair. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and seeker of fun. Riding motorcycles with his children was a favorite pastime of his. You would often find him riding his Harley to Ruidoso or hopping in his Camaro and driving up and down the Texas highways. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor often calling himself the selfappointed Mayor of Gomez. He is preceded in death by his parents JC and Dora Mae Wooley. He is survived by his children: Tiffany Beeles and husband Shannon of Lubbock, Justin Wooley of McKinney, Adam Wooley of Lubbock, and Katie Billingsley and husband Roger of Lubbock; five grandchildren: Ashton and Tate Beeles, Addison Wooley, and Logan and Sadie Kauffman. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Wooley of Sundown;sisters, Linda Albert and husband Alvin of Wolfforth; and Freda Wooley of Austin, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 5, from 4-6 p.m. at Brownfield Funeral Home. A family burial will be conducted at a later date.

Read moreEula Merle Cretsinger Bloodworth 81, of Olney passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 surrounded by the ones she loved. Merle was born on March 27, 1940 in Graham, Texas to Estus Layne “Cret” and Marie (Braddock) Cretsinger. She was a 1958 graduate of Olney High School, after high school Merle relocated to Brownfield to raise her children. After several years Merle relocated back to Olney to care for her mother. Merle was a strong passionate woman, loving mother, friend and the most amazing, kind person that one could ever know. Merle loved to cook and bake for everyone in the community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Olney. She worked several years at Olney Fuel and was a big part of their “Family”. In her younger years Merle worked for the Fuller Brush company, she also worked in the Brownfield school cafeteria and transported children to and from school. Merle spent her spare time crocheting potholders and afghans for family and community. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Bloodworth of Lubbock; her favorite daughter in law, Teresa Bloodworth of Lubbock; daughter, Carmen Valis and husband Joseph of League City; grandsons, Robert Carroll and wife Becky, Connery Carroll and wife Angie and Joshua Carroll; granddaughter, Jenna Valis and great granddaughter; Brittany Carroll and several more grandchildren. Merle is preceded in death by her parents Estus and Marie Cretsinger and two sisters, Freida Gale Blackwell and Sarah Vivian Cretsinger. A celebration of life service we be held at the Olney United Methodist Church at a later date. Cremation services under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas. Charleen was born on June 13, 1936 in Ropesville, Texas to Marshall and Kathleen Armstrong. She grew up in Ropesville and graduated from Ropes High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, Alton “Pete” Pettiet, at First Baptist Church of Ropesville on June 6, 1954. Except for a twelve year period when she and Pete lived in the Texas Panhandle, Charleen lived in the Ropesville Community all of her life. Charleen worked at the Ropes School tax office, was a farmer’s wife, and then ended her work career as an Insurance Agent with Germania Insurance Company after thirty-one years. Charleen accepted Jesus as her savior as young girl and loved serving others at her church and in her community. She served on the Ropes Cemetery Association, Ropes Senior Citizens Board, the Hockley County Historical Association, and as Director of Hockley County Senior Citizen Board. Charleen is survived by her husband, Alton “Pete” Pettiet, of Ropesville, Texas; her daughter, Cliffa Herron (Grady), of Brownfield, Texas; her son Bradley Pettiet (Karon) of Lubbock, Texas; her sister Sandra McNabb of Ropesville, Texas; five grandchildren, Micah Riddle (Curtis) of Dallas, Texas, Tyler Herron of Austin, Texas, Lauren Thacker (Kevin) of SE Asia, Jordon Hickner (Brian) of Great Falls, Montana, and Emily Stabeno (Kadon) of Williamsburg, Virginia; five great grandchildren, Regan Riddle, Nytlie Herron, Rhett Riddle, Nora Hickner, and Riley Thacker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Kathlean Armstrong, and great granddaughter, Karsyn Lee Thacker. Visitation was held Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway, Lubbock. Services were held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ropesville with burial followed at the Ropesville Cemetery. Lynn was such an amazing person! She loved her family and friends above all else. She was a huge animal lover and also loved to collect Betty Boop memorabilia. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, and tending to her many house plants. Lynn was known for her love, her kindness, and her generous spirit. Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Bob, her mother, Rozella, her two brothers Robert and Paul and two grandsons, Justin and Jonathyn. She is survived by her husband, Charlie, her sons, Shay and Sean, her grandchildren, Adrian, Isaiah, Samantha, her sisters Kathy and Michelle, and her brother, Billy.

After dating for nine years, he married his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth Sellers on July 30, 1988 in Seagraves. Shelby worked for Windstream until he retired after 31 years and then went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation. Shelby loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders. He always supported the local teams from both Yoakum and Terry Counties. Shelby was actively involved in the Walk to Emmaus and enjoyed the many 4-H Stock Show animals that he participated in with his family. He never met a stranger and always took the time to check on those he loved. Shelby had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others. He was so proud of his children and granddaughter and his eyes always lit up when he talked about them. Shelby is preceded in death by his parents, Elvice and Laverne Duncan; and father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Mary Guinn Sellers. Shelby is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Duncan; son Jacob Duncan and wife Baily; daughter, DeNell Duncan, and granddaughter, Olivia. His siblings, Debra Murphee and husband Wally, Terry Duncan and wife Rhonda, and Darla Welch and husband Tracy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
