It took 18 days for Brownfield Regional Medical Center to bring their first baby of the New Year, but when it happened, there were three to deliver and the race was on. The first born was baby girl Kaizlie Rai Ortiz, who joined the Brownfield community at 4:44 am on January 18, 2024. She is pictured here with her proud Mom, Rai Guzman and her equally proud partner Jose Ortiz. Also in the picture is Dr Kristy Acosta, who delivered Kaizlie, the staff team who made this moment happen, and the CEO, Chuck Norris, proudly presenting the family with New Year baby gifts to the first arrival.

Average gasoline prices in Texas have risen 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $2.65/g today, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 2.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago and stand 36.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 2.1 cents in the last week and stands at $3.87 per gallon.
