Incumbent candidates dominate local election filings so far, Feb. 17 is deadline to file

S ince candidates began filing their applications for a place on the ballot last month, incumbents comprise four out of the five candidates for the May 6 election so far. Folks who are interested in serving on their local school boards or city councils still have just under two weeks to file their applications. Filing began Jan. 18, and ends on Friday, Feb. 17.

The Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) provides producers another option to obtain coverage against disaster for these crops. NAP provides financial assistance to producers of non-insured crops impacted by natural disasters that result in lower yields, crop losses, or prevents crop planting.
