Will the price of gas go back up in the future?

Gas prices may be dropping but for some it’s still not enough. The price of a gallon of gas has dropped 15.7 cents per gallon in Texas in the last week according to The National Survey site, GasBuddy. You would expect a positive reply from the majority of people but there are still some that don’t find the recent gas drop to be what they need. Some people told The Brownfield News they expect gas prices to go back up again.

Fall tennis serving up on the court

The Brownfield Fall Tennis team takes the court once again with Head Coach Rich Hammons at the helm. The fall tennis team will play in Brownfield on Friday, August 5 at 9 am against Monahans and at 4 pm against Borger. On Saturday, August 6 the Cubs and Lady Cubs will play Vernon JV in Shallowater at 2 pm.

Volleyball in action for the first time

Head Coach Courtney VanderDussen and The Lady Cubs Volleyball team will play on Friday, August 5 in Andrews. The Lady Cubs will play at 11 am and at 2 pm. The Lady Cubs will also play in Brownfield on Saturday, August 6 at 12 pm and at 2 pm. The games played on both Friday and Saturday will be scrimmages.

Arrington Introduces Legislation to Expand Access to Emergency Care for Texas Seniors

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, Representative Jodey Arrington (TX-19) and members of the Texas Delegation introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives to expand access to emergency care for Texas seniors. The bill, H.R. 8597, is supported by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the National Association of Freestanding Emergency Centers (NAFEC).

Good news all around Brownfield ISD

There’s a lot of good news to report after the Brownfield ISD Board of Trustees met on Thursday, July 28. Brownfield ISD’s Superintendent Chris Smith, led the way in terms of presenting all the good news of the past school year and the year to come. The 22-23 school year is upon us and Superintendent Smith couldn’t be more pleased with how everything is looking following the 21-22 school year at Brownfield ISD.
