The ACES (Arnold Community Education Services) Health Fair, held last weekend was a complete success. That’s according to Richard Roberts with ACES. He told the Brownfield News, “It feels great to bring this event here to Brownfield every year. Our main objective here is to serve the community. That’s what ACES is about, community service. We just try to do things that the community will enjoy or that would be very beneficial like health. All we want to do here at ACES is to make Brownfield a better place to live. We try to give about a dozen scholarships every year and we also have a lot of educational activities for all ages to come out and enjoy.”

They will wed on December 17 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Brownfield. Darbie is a 2018 graduate of Brownfield High School and a 2021 graduate of Tarleton State University. She is employed as a Veterinary Technician at the Terry County Vet Clinic. Zack is a 2018 graduate of Mitchell County High School in Bakersville, NC and is currently a Specialist in the United States Army. They will make their home in Killeen, TX.

Read moreBrownfield football is so close you can almost taste it! Some throwing of the pigskin has already begun for Head Football Coach Aarrhon Flores. Flores and company hosted the Brownfield football camp on Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26. Age groups ranged from 1st-5th grade to 6th- 8th grade. The 1st-5th grade group went at 9 a.m. through 10 a.m. and the 6th and 8th grade group went from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Coach Flores and the rest of the coaching staff were all present during the camp to teach the younger generation not only football but what it means to be a Cub. At the end of the camp session each coach took a turn explaining to the kids what it meant to be a Cub in their eyes. Words like coachable, hardworking, family, and perseverance were the topics for all coaches involved. Coaches weren’t the only ones there to teach the youth, varsity players came out as well to help.
