The Brownfield baseball team opened its summer league games hosting Seagraves on Tuesday, June 8. The Cubs defeated their opponent 14-5 in five innings that included a grand slam by Adriano Mireles. The Cubs next summer league game is against Snyder on the road, Friday, June 11.

The event was a chance for Brownfield and Terry County dog owners to get rabies shots, DA2PCV, deworm, and microchip their dogs at a discounted rate, as well as a free toenail trim and flea and tick treatment.

Read moreOn Monday, June 7 the Brownfield boys and girls basketball camps began with the little dribblers going from 10 a.m. until noon at Oak Grove Elementary and summer skills work for fourth to ninth graders at Brownfield High. On the first day, there were 31 kids for little dribblers, 14 girls, and 30 boys for the summer skills. Both head coaches Michelle Wyatt and Zayne McPherson spoke on what they hope to accomplish in the three days of summer camp.

The Cubs varsity team faced Lamesa in game one and Tahoka in game two, winning both games with a 20-8 win over Lamesa and 28-14 over Tahoka. With the JV team winning both games, Brownfield football went undefeated.
