Read moreA Chevrolet Suburban engine caught fire on Saturday, March 13 on East Tate Street. The front of the vehicle and the tires were damaged by the fire, and no word on how the fire started. Firefighters showed up and used a hose to extinguish the fire in the engine block of the vehicle.
Read moreOn Friday, March 12 there was a collision on U.S. Highway 385/62 headed southbound involving a truck and another vehicle. The driver of the truck stated the vehicle that hit him was hydroplaning when he turned and smashed into the left side of his vehicle, which was pulling a trailer at the time.
Read moreThe Brownfield tennis team competed in the 2021 Texas Tennis Coaches Association state meet in the Annemarie Tennis Center at San Antonio. Brownfield faced a heavy task facing two of the top 10 teams in No. 6 Ingram in the first round and No. 5 Groesbeck in the consolation bracket. From there the team recovered and was able to play their tennis and secure a win in the 13th and 14th place matchup.

She was born July 14, 1955 in Brownfield, Texas to the late Clinton H. Howell and Gladys Pauline Hendricks Howell. She passed from this life on February 25, 2021. Edna is survived by her children Stacy Howell, Michelle Howell, Kali Raybon and Bobby Howell; eleven grandchildren; her sister Debbie Metcalf and her husband Jerry of Brownfield and brother David Howell of Brownfield.
