TEA Releases School A-F Grades

The Texas Education Agency released two years of grades for school districts on Friday, closing a lengthy legal battle over the A-F rating system. The release of the latest ratings comes after some districts sued the TEA over changes to rating standards. The 15th Court of Appeals last month overturned a lower court ruling that had blocked the TEA from making the school performance scores for the 2023-24 school year public. The ratings for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 were released together.

Commissioners to Meet

The Terry County Commissioners Court will have a special called meeting Thursday, August 21 at 9 a.m. in the courthouse basement. Judge Tony Serbantez will call the court to order with an invocation and the pledge. The court will then continue to work in a budget workshop to settle county budgets for the beginning of the new fiscal year. This is a mandatory process that yields transparency in financial dealings for the county.
