Abbott vetoes THC ban, calls special session Gov. Greg Abbott just before the midnight deadline Sunday vetoed a bill on THC products and said he would call a special legislative session to regulate products containing the substance, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The veto angered the bill’s chief champion, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

Read moreTerry County Commissioners met in regular session Monday and went over the county audit. The audit was performed by Bolinger, Segars, Gilbert and Moss. Tyler Kennedy with the firm presented a report on the audit to commissioners. Kennedy commended County Auditor Sabrina Brady on keeping the county finances clean and correct. Kennedy also stated that the firm found no deficiencies in control of the finances nor any on governmental activities dealing with finance. Terry County works on about a three to six month fund balance which is generally in step with governmental protocol. Kennedy stated that the county balance is healthy at 9.6 million dollars with most oof that allotted to road and bridge work along with vendor pay and county salaries as of December 31, 2024. Kennedy also confirmed that all county employee health plans are fully funded. Commissioners approved and accepted the audit.
