Louis Basquez Sr. 84 of Loop, TX. who was born June 21, 1937 in McGregor TX, went to be home with the Lord on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 1, 2021 at 11am at the Templo Betel Church located at 905 South 5th St. Brownfield TX. Visitation will be held at Grace Funeral and Cremation Care located at 1211 Lubbock Rd. Brownfield, TX Wednesday from 5-8pm. Louis was raised in Flower Grove and met the love of his life Gloria Valadez in Lamesa TX. They soon got married on October 18, 1955 and moved to Loop, TX., where they raised their four sons and daughter. Louis Jr, Ruben, Gilbert, Linda, and David. Louis worked as a farmer for 45 years. He had a very strong faith in God from a young age. With the help of members of the Loop First Baptist church and 2 other brothers in Christ, they started the Loop Spanish Mission. Louis was a deacon and later became a director with the Permian Baptist Association, with churches from Gaines, Yoakum, and Andrews Counties. Every where he went and everyone he met he made sure to share the gospel with them. Louis was preceded in death by his parents Victoria and Manuel Basquez, brothers; Manuel Basquez, Domingo Basquez, sister, Mercedes Quintanilla. Granddaughter Erica Basquez, son in law Aureliano Esquivel, and daughter in law Debbie Basquez. He is survived by wife Gloria Basquez of Loop, TX, 4 sons; Louis Basquez Jr. and wife Esther of Loop, TX Ruben Basquez and wife Consuelo of Loop,TX Gilbert Basquez and wife Sarah of Brownfield, TX. David Basquez of Amarillo,TX. daughter Linda Esquivel of Loop, TX,. 3 brothers; Raymond Basquez, Benito Basquez, Jesse Basquez, all of Levelland, TX sister, Marina Reyes of Loop, TX. 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of extended family and many friends. Pallbearers: Rey Basquez, Gerardo Basquez, Oscar Basquez, Michael Esquivel, Sammy Esquivel, Edward Esquivel.

The court met and approved the minutes of the last meeting, and took the most important action of the meeting, approved paying the county bills.
