MULESHOE – The Brownfield baseball team opened its District 3-3A season on the road against Muleshoe on Tuesday night. The Cubs preseason has been spent away from the friendly confines of their home field, and it showed as they jumped out early on the Mules in an 11-1 fifth inning win. The Cubs will play their district home opener on Friday against Lamesa at noon.

The Cubs have nine senior players and three senior managers and all 12 were honored with their number and position on the field. The Cubs began their season on Tuesday, March 30 on the road against Muleshoe and will play at home on Friday, April 2 against Lamesa at noon.
Read moreThe Brownfield softball team welcomed Littlefield to its home field on Saturday, March 27 for its first home game and second game in District 3-3A. The Lady Cubs were coming off a 14-0 win over Denver City in their district road opener. The Lady Cubs did not show the same scoring prowess in the opener but continued to show strong pitching and defensive play in their 11-0 win in six innings over Littlefield, after a two-run homer from Ashli Nicole Gutierrez in the sixth with no outs activated the ten run rule.
