Cubs look to Runnin’ Cubs past for a brighter future

Last season the Brownfield boys’ basketball team finished the season with a record of 10-21 overall and 6-8 in fourth place in Region 1, District 2-3A. That led to a Bi-District round appearance against Canadian, which the Cubs lost 70-59. That led to a change in coaching staff for the upcoming 2020-21 season with former Brownfield basketball champion Zayne McPherson and his staff of Richard Jackson and Kyle Carroll taking over.

Lady Cubs basketball home opener canceled

The Brownfield girls’ basketball team was set to play its season home opener against Ft. Stockton on Friday, but the game was canceled. The game is not likely to be rescheduled making Saturday, Nov. 21 the season home opener for the Lady Cubs against Lubbock Christian. That game is set for a 3:30 p.m. tip off.
